Oboe da Caccia

The oboe da Caccia is a tenor oboe tuned in Fa. It has a curved shape, covered with leather, with a metal bell and was in use between 1720 and 1760 in Central Europe.

Almost in all likelihood it was the invention of the wood and metal wind instrument maker Eichentopf. The copy that I present is a reproduction of one of the two survivors that are kept in the Stockholm museum.
